New Haven, CT — Sage's men's soccer team earned a 3-1 road win over Albertus Magnus College on Wednesday night to improve to 6-4 overall. Junior forward Jeaneste Pierre (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh Free Academy) scored a pair of goals in the match and now has three goals on the season.
Sage led 2-0 at the half as Pierre scored the first of his goals at the 4:47 mark and sophomore Kevin Wingolsky (Schodack, NY/Ichabod Crane) spotted the Gators to the early lead.
AMC's Salah Oumorou scored on a pass from John Iannucci-Berger at 62:11 to cut the Gators' lead to one goal, 2-1 before Pierre scored an insurance goal at 69:33 on a feed from junior forward Griffin Goodemote (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin Perth).
Sage's sophomore keeper Lucas Bourdeau (Castleton-on-Hudson, NY/Maple Hill) finished the day with four saves in earning the win as he is now 6-4 on the year.
Pierre now has eight career goals and is now tied for 10th all-time in the Gator career goal list.
Sage returns to action on October 5 visiting the Golden Flyers of Nazareth College in an Empire 8 match on the road at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
