Brockport, NY—The Sage Colleges' field hockey team travelled to Brockport State on Saturday for a non-conference match. The Golden Eagles collected a 4-0 win to improve to 3-0, while Sage stands at 0-3 on the young season.
Brockport's Katie Ziemba finished with two goals and a pair of assists to lead her team in the action. Meaghan Lurz scored the game-winner at the 4:49 mark on a pass from Ziemba and held the Gators in check in the action.
Gator keeper sophomore Abigayle Greier (Elma, NY/Iroquois Central) made 12 saves in net for Sage, while Brockport's Megan Peterson and Cara Fox shared in the shutout win as they each played a half.
Sage will be back in action on September 11 travelling to Elms College for a 4 p.m. road match-up.
