RSC Slips past Keuka for E8 win

Albany, NY — Russell Sage College women's soccer squad hosted the Wolves of Keuka College on Saturday afternoon in an Empire 8 contest. The Gators were able to capitalize on miscue by the Wolves and earned a1-0 Empire 8 win on Saturday. RSC is now 3-5-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the conference, while Keuka drops to 0-9-2 and 0-2-1 in the league.
The score was deadlocked at 0-0 at the break before Sage put pressure on a series of shots that ultimately led to the defensive mistake and an own goal putting the Gators on the scoreboard.
RSC held an 18-7 in shots as well as a 12-4 on corners.
Rookie keeper Kiersten Lynch (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) picked up the shutout win as she made six saves in the contest and is now 3-0. Keuka's senior Jessica Pegg (Rochester, NY/Penfield) took the loss after making 10 saves.
The Gators are back in action on October 5 traevling to SUNY-Delhi for a 3 p.m. road contest.
