WORCESTER, MASS – Russell Sage College Men's Soccer finished their non-conference slate on Tuesday evening as they traveled to Massachusetts and took down the Lancers of Worcester State 2-1.
The teams went into the break squared at zero, before sophomore Jason Victor (Utica, NY/Poland Central) broke the tie with a goal 20 minutes into the second half.
The Lancers (5-9) squared the game at one shortly after, setting up the Gators for a game winning opportunity.
Freshman midfielder Vincent Gazivoda (Poughquag, NY/Arlington/Imagine Learning) answered the call for RSC, taking a pass from junior midfielder Shea Stadler (Walden NY/Valley Central) into the back of the net with just over a minute left to secure the non-conference win for the Gators.
"I'm so incredibly proud of our program tonight," shared Head coach Amir Pasic after the victory. "We had an opportunity to play some guys that haven't gotten many opportunities and they absolutely stepped up, and got the job done. Jason scoring a goal from 30 yards and Vinny scoring with a minute left was the icing on the cake. Tonight was a big culture win that every Sage team in the future will hear about."
Russell Sage (8-6-2/2-5-2 E8) returns to the pitch on Saturday as they host Houghton.
